Carlo Amedeo Pasotto was born in Verona and spent most of his early life in Milan before moving to Urbino in 1982, where he still makes his home. He has been married for forty-five years, is the father of six children, and enjoys the company of many grandchildren. 

As a young man he devoted three years to an intensive formation in spiritual and monastic theology, first in Italy and later abroad. His academic path took him to three universities – Fribourg in Switzerland, the Catholic University of Milan, and Urbino – where he completed a degree in Literature and a diploma in Religious Studies. 

Pasotto began his teaching career in October 1971, specialising in Italian Language and Culture. He went on to establish the Centro Studi Italiani in Urbania, which he still directs. The school has welcomed students from more than 120 countries worldwide and now has additional branches in Milan and Genoa. He was also the founder and first president of the Committee of the Dante Alighieri Society in Urbania. 

He is the author of La Bella Lingua (A1–C2), a three-volume course in Italian language and culture for international students (Edizioni Centro Studi Italiani, 2016), along with numerous specialised teaching resources. His work extends beyond education into essays and literary writing, with publications including Considerazioni sull’Italia che cambia (1994), Cara Italia (Il Cerchio, 1996), Perché sia Amore (Edizioni Segno, 1998), Una vita per due vocazioni (2014), Lodi all’umile Regina (2016), La grande Rigenerazione (Europa Edizioni, 2023), Traditori della Fede e della Patria (Europa Edizioni, 2024), and Buoni e cattivi maestri (Good and Bad teachers – Europa Edizioni, 2024).
